Head of PV Systems


Job description:

Fraunhofer is giving you an exciting work environment bridging the areas of applied research and industrial demand. We are focusing on providing innovative and high-quality solutions and advanced research services in order to support Chile’s development towards a solar economy. You will lead and guide a motivated and excellent team of about 10 researchers in the Angelini Innovation Center on Campus San Joaquin of the Catholic University in Santiago de Chile. You will have contact to our

international partners, especially to colleagues at Fraunhofer ISE, Germany.

Position requirements

Education:

Physicist, Electrical Engineer (Msc, preferably PhD) or equivalent education with background in solar photovoltaic systems, quality assessment and testing

Work experience:

You have a sound knowledge of photovoltaic modules and systems operation and principles. You should have experience in the field of project management, photovoltaic performance assessment, solar resource prediction and cost analysis. You are familiar with market and operational characteristics of different PV technologies. Similarly it would be great if you have already worked with industry in contract research, offering R&D services to external customers.

Competences:

Your strengths include the ability to lead a team of researchers and engineers, negotiate contracts with industrial customers and work independently with a high level of commitment. Therefore, you should have organizational skills, creativity, flexibility and excellent communication skills. You are enthusiastic about applied research, renewable energies in total and new ideas, and are interested in working in an interdisciplinary team. The working languages are mainly Spanish and English.

Responsibilities:

To lead the team “PV Systems” dealing mainly with contract research for industry and public funded projects on photovoltaic. There is a strong collaboration and interaction with the other teams in our Center, especially in the topics of grid integration, monitoring of systems, solar resource assessments and solar water treatment. You should

• manage and organize your team and equipment on day to day basis

• lead/supervise and be responsible for the projects of your team

• identify new R&D potentials, projects, partners, clients and other institutions for this area

• prepare proposals and offers to industry and public bodies

• prepare of progress reports on projects and initiatives associated in the relevant area

• attend work meetings and report the progress status of projects in the area

• support the Executive Director of the Center in tasks on demand

• organize seminars and dissemination events with industry, academic entities and other R&D institutions for your area

• organize team meetings to discuss and develop corresponding projects

• request new appointments, vacations, and other requirements of employees in the team

• encourage the team maintaining an adequate working environment

• organize the work of his collaborators in terms of logistics, health and safety

TÉCNICO PV

Descripción del trabajo

Persona con experiencia y proactiva encargada de instalación y diseño de pequeñas plantas

fotovoltaicas de investigación y estructuras de montaje de instrumentos. Cargo con gran potencial

de aprendizaje científico y grato entorno laboral. Se solicita amplia disponibilidad para viajar

frecuentemente a terreno en campañas de un par de días, en donde se instalan y mantienen

equipos de medición en zonas desérticas, rurales y/o aisladas.

Requisitos específicos

- Título de Ingeniero en ejecución o técnico (eléctrico o electrónico)

- 2 años de experiencia en temas afines

- Residencia en Antofagasta o disposición a mudarse

- Conocimiento en sistemas eléctricos de baja tensión e instrumentación

- Conocimiento en instrumentos de medida, adquisición de datos y redes de comunicación

- Capacidad de resolución de problemas en terreno

- Manejo básico de Excel

- Habilidades de trabajo en equipo

- Disponibilidad para campañas extensas en terreno

- Licencia de conducir clase B

- Inglés básico

Responsabilidades:

Instalar y operar eficientemente sistemas de medición y sistemas eléctricos de baja tensión

Comunicar eficazmente observaciones técnicas en ejecución de proyectos. Manejo y gestión eficiente de inventario de herramientas y equipos.

Postdoc or Senior Researcher in Photovoltaic technology, modules and systems


What we expect from you

You have successfully completed a degree (preferably PhD) in physics or engineering in the field of PV module technology and/or PV systems. Within the field of PV (or CPV) you have a thorough experience in experimental characterization and quality assessment as well as some knowledge of material properties, system design and simulation. Knowledge in soiling mechanisms will also be an asset.Your strengths include the ability to work cooperatively and also to guide scientifically a team of engineers and students in an international environment, develop own initiative and work with a high level of commitment. Therefore you should have creativity and flexibility in combination with analytical, organizational and communication skills. You are enthusiastic about applied research, renewable energies and are interested in working in an interdisciplinary team. The working languages are Spanish and English.

Your responsibilities will be

Advancing the knowledge on performance of PV/CPV modules and systems under real conditions in Chile with climatic extremes (mainly Atacama Desert). Your main – but not exclusive - topics of investigation will include

1) Analysis of soiling impact on performance, and study of optimization solutions,

2) Investigation and optimization of innovative technologies, such as bifacial modules

3) Optimization of PV systems for Chilean applications

In these tasks, your result should allow the Center to develop economical and applied solutions to practical problems. There is a strong interaction within the teams in our Center, especially in the topics of quality assessment and monitoring, system simulation and integration of systems. Therefore with your experience, you will be asked to advise other members of our team.

Your tasks will be the followings:

• Development of R&D activities supporting the development of advanced and more costeffective PV/CPV systems adapted to Chilean environment, Publications

• Research activities on outdoor prototypes and pilot plants: study of system behavior, analysis of LCOE, etc.

• Cooperation Plataforma Solar del Desierto de Atacama in Antofagasta

• Management and supervision of installation of prototype (bifacial, CPV, heterojunction modules,...) photovoltaic systems

• Preparation of proposals and offers for national and international collaboration: Contact to potential customers and companies

• Managing public and private projects, project reporting for industrial and public projects

• Assessment of the economic viability of potential solutions

• Technological watch over commercial products and new developments

• Further Development of the PV/CPV expertise at the center: training of other members, proposal of investigation projects

• Guidance and supervision of students

Supervisor de cobranzas

Empresa rubro servicios ubicada en Santiago, Providencia, requiere incorporar a su equipo Supervisor de cobranzas.

Postulante debe tener experiencia de al menos 5 años en cargos similares, titulados de la carrera Contador General o similares, conocimientos de Excel, manejo de Softland, capacidad de trabajo en equipo y buenas relaciones interpersonales.

Principales funciones:

Asegurar el cumplimiento de las metas de cobranza mediante la implementación de las estrategias operacionales establecidas por la Gerencia respectiva.
Realizar una óptima gestión del proceso de cobranza.
Presentar informes periódicos a la gerencia del estado de cobranzas.

Horario de oficina de lunes a viernes.

Ubicación cercana a Metro Manuel Montt.
